Mickle-a-do Irish Band
Mickle-a-do
is a diverse group of Celtic music enthusiasts in Georgia, who have
been playing as a group since 1999. Our music is a mixture of Old
and New World Celtic songs that range from hard hitting jigs and
songs to moving ballads and instrumentals. While most of the music
is of traditional origins, we have a few of our own creations as
well.
To date, we have recorded and released four albums. They are Celtic
Eclipse, A Little Bit o' Craic! Half Craic'd! and finally,
Craic!
We play traditional Celtic instruments such as high and low whistle,
bodhr'an, mandolin and fiddle. To reflect the musical influences
other countries have had on Celtic songs, we include the guitar,
bass, flute, and bouzouki.
Some of our past engagements have been at Eddie's Attic, the High
Museum of Art, the Georgia Renaissance Festival, on the Main Stage
at Underground Atlanta, the Renaissance Hotel in Atlanta, the State
University of West Georgia, Indian Springs Scottish Festival, Georgia
Independence Day Festival, Celtic Tavern, Atlanta's St. Patrick's
Day Parade, McColgan's Irish Pub, Scruffy McGee's in Columbus Georgia,
and Corbett McGee's in Anderson, South Carolina.
While we love to play at public events, Mickle-a-do also performs
at private events too! Please consider us when you are making plans
for your corporate event, wedding, birthday party or other special
gathering.
ADD THE DANCERS...
Should you desire to book Mickle-a-do plus our Irish Dancers, we
use champion level dancers from one of the top Irish Dance Schools
in the Atlanta area. Dancers perform in costume using soft and hard
shoe format in traditional Celtic dancing.
